The first set of Academy trials have been successfully completed with nearly fifty boys attending on the day. Thanks to Barrie for allowing us the use of the pitch and thanks also to all the boys who came to the trials on the day. The standard of boys was very high and we have so far been able to offer twenty-two boys places on the Academy/College programme.
We are also holding further trials on the 4th & 11th of July. Already we have had plenty of enquires from boys wanting to take part in the next set of trials. These trials will be held at Welling Youth’s home ground at Camdale Road and boys are advised to contact myself to reserve a place, keith@wellingunitedacademy.co.uk. This will also avoid the disappointment of turning up and possibly not being able to trial...
Welling United Academy Launched

In partnership with Bexley College, Welling United are pleased to announce the introduction of a Football Academy programme starting September 2009. The partnership will mean boys aged 16-18 years will be able undertake a college based national qualification in sport while at the same time participating in the Welling United football academy.
The football Academy will be based at Welling United, Park View Road. The scholars will train three times a week and play every Wednesday in the national youth conference league. The programme is an exciting step forward for the club in terms of youth development. In the recent past the club has had an association with Lewisham College. However, it was felt that in the long term interests of the club there was a need to produce boys from the local area who would also attend a college based in the borough of Bexley.
